St. Mary's Guildhall, Bayley Lane |
This wonderful building (with its many rooms) was first built in the 1340's for the merchant guild of St. Mary. There is something of historic interest in every corner of this room. So you know I will revisit again. In meantime, just enjoy this view from the minstrel gallery.
The statute of Lady Godiva pictured here is on the left just beyond the chairs through the archway.

Thank you, Tanya.
I like the watching man in armour in the foreground! Clever.
That was my third attempt, Chrissy. Want to try it one more time when those chairs aren't there. I wonder if they would move them for me?
I love looking over the knight's shoulder! creative and engaging shot

What a room! Lady Godiva was a lovely picture and fits right in this atmosphere. I'm quite taken with the composition here too - love the feel of peeking over that armored shoulder!
Thanks, Lulu.
Lady Godiva, my kind of lady.
Such an interesting perspective. Well done!
Fantastic place and great composition!
I love all your shots this week but this is my favorite. I'm so predictable.
Petrea....I am not at all surprised :).
Back again...I was just reading your remarks...really nice of you all. Thank you!
This reminds me of an old DTLA theater on Broadway.
This reminds me of how I need to post on Skywatch Friday again. And St. Mary's resembles an old Broadway theater in downtown LA.
