Heron

Coombe Country Park

I was about 20 feet away from this heron.  So pleased
it stood still long enough for me to take this picture.

Two Cygnets and Two Swans

Above...
Coombe Country Park

Taken in color but for some reason the photograph
 almost looks black and white.

PS.  Happy Halloween :)

Mrs Blackbird

In Our Apple Tree
Coventry, England

She is clearly not black,
but I have it on good authority
that she is a female blackbird :).

Long-Tailed Tit

Coombe Country Park
Bird Hide

I have only seen this bird once at Coombe Country Park (so far).

If I see another one, I hope to get some clearer images.

On A Windy Day

 Coombe Country Park

I'm learning that some of these
birds have similar markings.
I think this is a Coal Tit.

Full Flaps

Coombe Country Park
Swans near Capability Brown Boathouse

My husband came up with the title.
I love watching the swans around Coombe.
Not long ago, I got a chance to see several land on the lake.
In the last shot you'll see one virtually glide onto the water
at 'full flaps'.

Verticle

Coombe Country Park
At the Bird Hide last week.

These two photographs were taken about
10 minutes apart.  I must say the squirrel
stayed a tad longer than the Great Tit.

Haven't seen it since.

'Quick! Get Your Camera'

Coombe Country Park
Egyptian Geese

About 3 years ago there was a lone Egyptian goose
at Coombe, then there were two last year
and now there are seven.

We got a little excited.  I managed to get a few shots
of a very unusual sight last Sunday.
