It's In The Detail

Craven Coat of Arms, St Bartholomew Church
Motto translation:  Virtue Consists in Action
This unique Wedgwood style ceiling has recently been refurbished along with the rest of the interior of the church. The church was built by Lord Craven in 1773.  And, it is the Parish Church for the area where I live.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who are in the path of Hurricane Sandy.  It is the top item on the news here in the UK today.

Now what did Lord Craven have to do with Canadian cigarettes?

Thanks for your warm comments!

Wesgewood always seems to be a bit overwrought for my tastes, though you have to admire the skill that goes into a ceiling like this.

Glad everyone gives this ceiling a thumbs up. It is beautiful to see in person.
