E Is For Evidence....

...that England has some good size Redwood Trees too.

The last time I saw a Redwood Tree was in California at what is now known as Redwood National Park. To my delight I found a forest of Redwood Trees here in Coventry (Coombe Country Park) and there are more trees scattered around the City.  In California some Redwoods are so big that you can drive through them. Not the one in this photo. That's me, by the way, on a really cold and wet day.  I am 5' 6''.  So here is my Evidence that the trunk of this tree is pretty BIG.

For more photos sharing the letter 'E', please follow this link - ABC Wednesday.

PS.  I hope you don't mind that there have been a substantial number of photos from Coombe of late.  It is all to do with the weather.  Coombe is near where I live and a great place to go for a walk with a camera and, of course, Mr. LOL too :).

Nice evidence -- that's a sizeable tree. Great for you that you've discovered redwoods in your area.

Your E photo is making me smile and smile, I love that beautiful redwood! Always makes me think of California, wish we had them here (other than a few deliberately grown specimens on the University campus).

Enjoying the Coombe photos very much, also!

Love Redwood trees! The ones we visit once in a while are in Yosemite national Park. If yo come to California again -it's really worth the visit. There are also mountains to 9000 feet and a few big waterfalls (if you go before Aug.).

Thanks for visiting.

Great shot! I never knew England had these trees.

Hang on to your hats, I might even show you the whole tree some day. Thanks for visiting Coventry!

Tanya - Good :). I do photograph 'around' Coventry a lot, hence the title but some times I seem to be returning to the same spot. That will happen again when I am playing golf. More golf course shots.

PerthDP - I did the same thing after your remark. There are Redwoods in OZ but not a lot.

Deb - You are really Exceptional at making use of the letter of the day :).

Jesh St Germain - Yosemite is just fabulous and it has been years! I would love to go there again.

Thanks Daryl - Right back at you! And, you too, Lulu!

Thanks again all.

Lauren, I'll tell you what someone told me when I started blogging a few years ago: it's you we come to visit. We love the photos, of course, but it's you who makes the blog so much fun. I don't care if you post pictures of your back yard for the next month.

Huge trees like that fascinate me; always reminds me of Robin Hood.

Hazel - Lovely thoughts :).

Petrea - What super kind advice you are passing on and I do appreciate it. I tend to keep the text to a minimum. I post photos I like (and therefore I am sharing what I am doing). Funny, when I started doing this, I took the 'daily' bit literally. To this day a good percentage of the photos I post are taken on the same day. Early on I struggled to reach that target and feared I would be sent to the 'dungeons' (like that?) because the weather conditions in my photos did't match what was going on outside my window. Busted! Blogging is fun and it is so enjoyable to be reading wonderful blogs like yours, not to mention your sensational Camelot & Vine book.

Oh dear, if I had to take pictures and post them the same day every time, I'd have quit this long ago. And are you reading C&V? I'm thrilled! People seem to be discovering it, and of course I will continue to post about it as often as I dare...
