D Is For Distance

In the Distance is Coombe Lake.

This photo was taken last Sunday at Coombe Country Park.  Taking this was challenging -  sort of a game between me and my camera's auto focus.  Success, eventually!

All around the park are these clever displays designed to give some information about the various views and to encourage visitors to look and explore.

It works and I expect I will finding more of these in the weeks ahead.  Here is an unobstructed view (noting the lack of blue sky sadly).

For more photographs featuring the letter 'D', please follow this link - ABC Wednesday.

We went to another movie today. (I know - 3 days in a row.  Now you know what our family give us for Christmas presents - cinema vouchers.)  Today it was 'Flight'.  Good with super acting.  Yesterday we saw 'Silver Linings Playbook' and that was excellent as was 'Argo' the day before.

Good job! I, too, am experimenting with my new camera to figure out focus, etc.

I love what you did here! So cool that the auto-focus got you what you wanted. Lovely D choice and looks a lovely area. (Also, enjoying the film updates, I love movies but seems there's not enough hours to see them all!)

I'm surprised you were able to get the autofocus to work on that shot. Autofocus isn't as easy as it sounds! Clever interpretation for 'D'. I saw 'Flight' too. Loved Denzel Washington...but, didn't care for the storyline.

They're like mother nature's binoculars LOL. You really are a bit of a movie buff at the moment, loving the reviews..don't think I could see Flight, I'm already terrified of flying haha!

This is so unique--love the idea and you did a great job using the camera. How clever to make a public space for viewing with these. We've been trying to see all the nominated movies for best picture. But I have not seen Silver Linings or Argo yet. Must soon.

Thank you all for leaving a note. Now on to the movie chat :).

I know, Lulu. We just got lucky this week with spare time. Didn't go to a film today. Will have to wait until next week.

Tanya - Denzel was amazing. SRQ gives a fair assessment of the film, I would say but I did liked it just the same.

Grace - You did make me laugh. I love to fly but my next trip will have new meaning...ha ha!

Ann - you must :). Both very good.
