C Is For Contender...

...for my favorite tree.

This tree stands along side a historic medieval road known as Coombe Lane (hooray another 'C').  The photo was taken last week.  Inspired by Stefan Jansson's 'That Old Tree' series, many of us have been out searching for 'our tree' to photograph throughout the year.  This is a contender for 'my tree'.  I have others but I do like this one because of its location just outside Coombe Country Park.  For more 'C' photos from around the world, please follow the link to ABC Wednesday.

Thanks, Stefan!!  To view Stefan's collection of photos, please follow the link to: Photos From Haninge.  Find 'That Old Tree' photos in the index to the right.

Beautiful -- definitely a good contender. I love how full it is, even without leaves.

Location aside, this could easily pass for a 'long lost relation' to Steffe's tree LOL!!

Your tree is lovely! I didn't know about the series, but yours looks like a perfect candidate. Going to click the link and check out the others now, too.

Wonderful idea to focus on a tree, a la Stefan! You picked a regal beauty.

It's a good choice I think, and it looks a bit like my old tree.

Stefan - I agree with PerthDP that this tree could be related to yours. And you notice a similar feel. What I have learned from your photos is that your tree is on its own with that wonderful winding road along side. Some of the ones I have looked at are amongst other trees. Still looking. It is a fun project.

Enjoying all your comments, folks. Many thanks :).

That's just beautiful.

I've been photographing a tree, too. Maybe I should post those!

Lovely picture. I like how you've framed it with the fence.

I love it and all the curvy fence lines around it.

A beautiful scene. It will work nicely for an "old tree" for repeated visits, as Steffe visits his old tree repeatedly.

Your comment today about Hartford's downtown got me thinking. When I started my blog, I took a lot of photos OF the downtown, but after a while I began to think that if I kept it up, I would run out of things to show. (Hartford is a small city and the downtown is also rather small.) So, I began branching out to other areas of central Connecticut. It might not be apparent, but quite a few photos are taken IN the downtown, but are not OF the downtown.

Jack - I will comment back on your page re Hartford 'downtown'. Great photo.
