Princethorpe College

The prominent tower in the distance is Princethorpe College.
This is the last shot I took after we went on a tour there on Monday.
The college is located in the small village of Princethorpe, quite near Coventry.
The shot below is the first photo I took that evening.

I will share some photos from inside next week.

Mr LOL and I started doing some genealogy work on his family a few years ago.  We knew that in the early 1900's his grandfather lived in Princethorpe.  What we didn't know was that his great uncle was buried here with other family members. What a discovery when we just happened to stop by to have a look not that long ago.

Participating in Skywatch Friday (celebrating seven years today - congratulations!) and Ein Stück Himmel.

I am still with tooth.  Less pain but it is going to have to come out.  Something to look forward to next week, I guess.  Have a super weekend.  Weather is good here.  Yes, it is!

The church tower silhouette is amazing. So English. Is this a Norman tower with gothic additions?

The image of the tower across the graveyard appeals to me. Toothache? Ouch. I hope it calms down.

I wonder what it would be like to attend college in such an idyllic setting? Your beautiful photos engender an unknown longing in me. May be because I've learned through DNA testing that I've many ancestors from the UK.

What a treat to find that hither to unknown tombstone!

You're going to like the way you feel when that tooth is out!

Wonderful graveyard shot! And to find long-lost relatives to boot--very cool! Hope your mouth feels better soon.

How wonderful to find long lost rellies Lauren, even if it was a little too late :) I like the second image with the view over the cemetery very much.
Sympathies re the tooth situation, did you say it was a wisdom tooth, ouch! But again I say, once it's gone you'll be a new woman, albeit a little less wise haha!

Thank you all. Appreciate your comments and good wishes for my tooth, which is visiting the dentist tomorrow :).

Oakland Daily Photo - I will step out of my comfort zone in my attempt to answer your question. The tower was built between 1897 and 1901. It is described by many as being of Victorian Gothic masterpiece.

Lowell - Come on over and have a closer look. England is filled with wonderful villages like this, oozing with history and splendor.

Perth, I mean, Grace - Wisdom/'less wise' thought - just too perfect a comment. Can't wait use it :).
