Identification Please

I have been watching this field for a couple of weeks now.
It is beautiful with acres of lilac/purple flowers.

As excited as I am to see some blue sky,
I would really love to know what
this farmer is growing here.

I can identify those pretty red poppies.
Any ideas what those delicate lilac flowers are?

Participating in Skywatch Friday and Ein Stück Himmel.

Have a sunny weekend!

No idea, but they are pretty!

I can say it's not lavender, as they are individual plants, not bushes. A shame that you couldn't get a close up of the plant heads, as it might have made identification easier

Can´t help you with the name of the flowers, anyway the field is wonderful! Great shots!

I wish I knew! I've seen something similar here and at first thought lavender but the had no smell and didn't quite look it. Whatever they are, they're gorgeous! Beautiful captures and loving that sun:)) Have a wonderful weekend!

I think the crop is linseed or flax

They are indeed gorgeous with the poppies in the foreground.

Since I am a guy, I will confidently give you the authoritative answer, even though I have no idea. "LOL, it is flax!"

They look like lovely little purple flowers. :)

A fine photo of them, too.

I don't know from lavender but they're the right color.

Flax gets my vote, it is grown for the seeds which are used to make Linseed oil.

Hi all of you lovely people who left a comment. I think it is flax as suggested by a number of you. I can't wait to see how they go about harvesting it! Wouldn't it be nice if I could get a photo!

Here is a link for flax - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flax

From way over here in Atlantic Canada this looks like a field of flax to me. Just dropped in for a wee visit and shall come back. Have a wonderful day.
