Soccer season starts next week and
Coventry City Football Club owners think it would be good
to play home matches in Northampton (30 miles away)
rather than continue to use the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
The Story:
Coventry City FC (local soccer team) is to play all
their home matches 30 miles away in Northampton.
Crazy? You bet. Coventry has a state of the art stadium
good enough to host Olympic football which will now
not be used by anyone, it would appear.
Why? All to do with money.
The Sky Blue Trust (supporters' organisation for CCFC)
is encouraging all who want to see Coventry City FC
remain in Coventry to tie a sky blue ribbon around
lamp posts, trees, railings etc.
I found hundreds of ribbons. I like this one the best.
Taken outside Coventry Cathedral today.
Cheers for now. Hope you all are well!!

That is the weirdest football story I have heard in a long while.
It's a mad world we live in.
The magnitude of the stupidity exhibited by our politicians and corporate hacks is beyond all understanding!
another mystery of sport!

Tie another blue ribbon on a tree for me LOL!!! I totally get it!!!
That is disappointing for the fans and bad business decisions by the owners. Fans need to be cultivated, not alienated.
Interesting tidbit about the sport of football.
That's interesting. It sounds like they don't want their ticket sales to contribute to the local economy.
Actually, it sounds like they don't want ticket sales at all, being 30 miles away from their fans.
Oh goodness... hopefully they will come to their senses! It's always about the money, though.
what a pretty picture...30 miles, wow, that's quite a distance for the fans to travel!
You all seem to agree there is no logic to travelling 30 miles to watch a home match! Wonder if 'the powers that be' will.
These comments are spot on. Thank you!
