Alford Windmill Built In 1837

On the way home from the Lincolnshire coast,
we had one of those moments when
I requested (begged) Mr LOL to stop the car
so I could take these photos :).

It is just beautiful but sadly it was closed.  We couldn't go inside to have a look.  If you click on the link, you can read all about this wonderful seven story, five-sail windmill - HERE. Alford is a lovely town about 13 miles from the Lincolnshire coast.

I have got the dentist later on this morning.  I am not sure what is wrong but I am in pain.  So I may have to take a few days off.  The plan...to be back very soon!  Cheers for now.

Windmills have a charm all their own. Just the other day I saw a TV program which showed a windmill that had been converted into a house...it was most interesting.

Hope that you visit to the dentist's chair was of help.

Sorry to hear about your problems Lauren. Hope it doesn't turn out too expensive.

I remember Alford windmill well, as I used to live at Sutton on Sea, which is just a few miles away. This was back in the 80s. I don't think its changed that much since then

Seven floors of fabulousness :) Love windmills, in fact we have one here that I often think about snapping. Hope your dental visit sorted out the problem, I was there today also. It must be horrible being a dentist, most people dread going to see them :))

Grace - I am giving you an assignment. Go photograph that windmill. I would love to see it :). You are so right about going to see the dentist. Six months ago I had an appointment and ended up in hospital rather than go to the dentist. A tad extreme. Mr LOL had to cancel my appointment from ambulance. I was all right in the end - just panicked. Did I feel silly or what!
