The Charred Cross

Old Coventry Cathedral Ruins

As you can see, The Charred Cross in the Old Cathedral is
a replica.  The actual cross is kept inside the
New Cathedral (below) for safekeeping.
Click the link HERE
to see the original Cross of Nails.

I visited here yesterday and found
this quiet spot right at the back of the
Cathedral where The Charred Cross is displayed
and Books of Remembrance can be found nearby.

Happy Birthday, Mom xx

A sign of hope as well as faith.
My Dad waked from Kenilworth to the cathedral the day after the bombing..he said everything was still smoking.

Given the history, the replica and the original have a sense of peace to them.

I agree with William, the charred cross is incredibly symbolic, it would evoke different emotions in all who view it. Many happy returns to your lovely mum Lauren.
