Thatched Roof Thursday #23 - Brinklow

This cottage is quite a contrast to the house next door.

The photo above was taken late last year.  The one below was taken this month.  It is called Holly Cottage. Guess that is because of the holly tree out front.  This seventeenth century thatched roof home is two cottages.   Next door is having some building work done....always seems to require a skip and portable loo.  Try and concentrate on the cottage :).

I am starting to panic a little.  I still haven't shown you the finished cottage in Coventry.  The weather isn't cooperating.  We get moments of sunshine (as in the shot above) but they don't last.   I am insisting on showing you Coventry thatch in full sunshine with a blue sky.  Looking out my window now it is cloudy with the threat of more snow????? (Still not complaining.)

See you tomorrow!

What on earth did we do before the portable loo, I guess being on good terms with your neighbour or close proximity to the local pub would have been an advantage haha! Panic not about your thatch in the sunshine shot LOL, any day now I foresee sunshine coming your way :)

Oh how lovely! I think it is perfect even with the construction stuff. If the moss on the roof is any indication...it might be a while before there is much sunshine...

Nice cottage, and a lovely looking Holly tree too.

What is it about thatched cottages? They always look so warm and inviting (maybe even more so on a grey day). The way you've captured it in the first shot makes it look especially idyllic. But even with the construction gear, I'd still want to live there!

first thing I noticed was the difference in houses.
I so love these types of cottages.
We have just had a afternoon hail storm after a very hot muggy day, havent been out to check the cars yet :(
Hope you get some sunshine soon..

Nice to see you, Adele! And, thank you!

Tanya - We all seem to be getting more snow. What's going on??? I liked your posting on FB about 'comments'.

PerthDP - Too true re the loo :). I am glad you can see sunshine coming - looking out my window I see none. Bet it is beautiful above those clouds.

Kara - Thank you. I will go over to yours in a minute!

Deb - It is sort of different, I think. That tree is a winner!

LongBeach - I feel exactly the same. Not far from there is a field of lambs. Idyllic, indeed :).

Jo - I guess your weather is turning now too. Hope your car isn't dented.

Daryl - The winds are blowing across England from the East. Now we need them to hurry up so you have warmer weather in Paris :).

I don't know where the shooting locations are but this reminds so much of "Midsomer Murders". :-)

JM - you make me laugh! I love Midsomers Murders. I am amazed that there is anyone still alive in that fictional town. It is filmed in a number of locations - filmehttp://midsomermurders.org/locationsindex.htmd
