Thatched Roof Thursday #29 - Stoneleigh

So what did I do yesterday?  You got it - drove around looking for thatched cottages.  In Stoneleigh, I hit the jackpot.  I found 4 cottages and a fifth one being re-thatched.  It was a perfect afternoon and I did so enjoy my walk around this lovely village.

At last a home that has a little bit of open space in front of it.  It is a Circa 1600 timber framed cottage.

What a day this has been.  Glad to be sitting down now.  Hope you are all well.  Cheers!

Hi Lauren, thanks for following my blog. I'm surprised that you've not come across it before, as I have been doing it for over seven years now. Still there's hundreds of City Daily Photo blogs, that you can't see them all. I've been to Coventry a couple of time. Only passing through though, not a proper visit. I have followed you as well, so I look forward to see what pics you post.
Greetings from Christopher @ Nottingham Daily Photo

Oh and btw, I found this link about Britain on Foot program :D Don't know if this might interest you but I thought I pass around. It's kind of great having walk meets. :D

Thanks to you all for making the effort. It has been a busy week for us all with CDP Theme Day.

Stefan and Jack - I am going back. More houses to see :).

Deb - I can never be sure if those are Peacocks for Pheasants.

Christopher - I looked at every Theme Day entry this month and that is how I found you. Glad we met up!

Raine - I followed the link. Thanks!

Lulu - Here I am a 'retired' person but it certainly didn't feel like it this week :).

Daryl - I feel the same way!

JM - You are too kind. Thank you!

Oh well done Lauren, nice find indeed. You know that's one of the things I loved the most about England when we there for that year, all the small villages in such close proximity to each other, each more quaint than the one before. It must be quite a commitment to keeping a thatched roof ship shape, but so worth it when they look like this.
oh yes..and then there were the pubs :)

Grace, you do make me laugh. (I know I have said that before - but you do.) When I arrived in Stoneleigh some of the thatched roofs have a distinct 'haircut' look about them. I did take some pics and I thought of you when I was taking them :)). (Mr. LOL is resting his back - still improving. Sun is out. All is good. Hope all is good for you too.) ...and anyone else tuning in...genuinely.
