Q Is For Quadrant...

...The Quadrant building in Warwick Road, that is.

The Quadrant has a curved frontage like a crescent.  You see half of it here.

How handy, a sign on the building that tells the whole story.
The Quadrant is located between the train station and the City Centre.
Unmissable by its appearance but completely surrounded by zillions of cars.
By the way, it is currently home for businesses rather than being residential.

Angela Brazil (children's writer) lived and worked here between 1911 and 1947.

Participating in ABC Wednesday.

Its a happy irony, though the building is named Quadrant, it looks complete without flaws :)

It's gorgeous!

How impressive. But it should be surrounded by gardens, not with cars.

Very cool Q!! I love you found a beautiful building to capture that word (enjoyed the plaque and history too:).

This is a lovely spot. If I sell my Connecticut house and look for an apartment or condo, I would like to find something like this.

It looks a lovely building and how handy to have the information on tap like that.

Hi Lauren (that is the name of one of our granddaughters)!

This is a magnificent building; I would think that it would be especially fortuitous for a writer...sitting in one of the upper floors, surrounded by books and papers, looking out of a window, wrapped safely by a strong, sturdy building, and caressed by history - what a place to create a novel, a poem, a short story, a song, an essay, a play...

Re your comment: Not to worry, I can never stay away too long. But I'm running 8 blogs and there are times I must let go a bit! :)

If that was in Manchester it would have been converted into flats by now.

Appreciate all your comments. I have added a sentence to main text explaining that it is mainly home for businesses now. To me it would be a wonderful residential location/apartments as Gerald suggests and Jack would like!

Roger - I can just imagine what it costs to have it repainted...it is always in good nick.

Daryl - Location is everything and this is still a prestigious location mainly for legal practices.

Grace - I so would love to be able to get up into those towers and see what they are used for now. Neat to think a writer lived there and apparently she held some rather grand parties too!

Jack - You have good taste :).

Lowell - It would seem that a lot of writing continues...legal briefs, etc. :). Eight blogs - goodness me. You warrant that bit of a break and a gold star!

Cheers all !

Lovely looking building. Maybe anywhere else, it would have been turned into a Tesco's
