Across The Street

Mill Street, Warwick
Taken last week.

These timber framed houses are lovely but what gets me
is the sight these homes have from their front doors....

...Warwick Castle.

There is a big wall between the Grade II listed homes in Mill Street
and the castle.  I did use a zoom lens here but believe me,
the castle does look that big when you are standing in Mill Street.

Below is a photo I used in my blog
in 2012 taken from Guy's Tower (tower with flag - above) looking down to where I
am standing in the top photo.  You can see Mill Street and
a little of the timber framed buildings.

It is nice to get these three photos together on one page.

Warwick Castle is about 20 minutes from Coventry.
Well worth a visit!!!!

All three photos tell a wonderful and interesting story about this neighborhood. I'd love to live in one of those timber houses and tour the castle as well.

Thanks for the photos as it puts a different perspective on those houses.

Sooo beautiful!!! And grand!!! We just got back from a Viking Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest...after we had sailed down the Middle Rhine (UNESCO heritage site) viewing castle after castle on either side of the river, one of the Brits on the ship stopped and said to us..."ABC"...we, of course, asked, "what is ABC?"....her answer....
Another bloody castle!!!

Beautiful architecture! I will keep Warwick in mind, if I'm ever in the neighborhood. ;)

Wow! What a chilling sight to see as you come out your front door, whether way back when or today. I wonder if you ever get used to seeing an immense structure outside your door.

I have walked on that street and seen those sights, and it is my fondest wish to do so again. What a place.

This could not be anywhere other than Merry Olde England.

You mentioned in a recent comment on my blog that you have a relative who was an early founder of Hartford. What was the name? There are some old cemeteries. Maybe I could track down a tombstone and send it to you.

I LOVE timbered buildings. What a quaint town this is. And you can't beat the views. :)
