City Daily Photo Theme Day - Landmark

Coventry's Three Spires
Photo taken from the village of Ansty (4.7 miles away).

In the days before skyscrapers, Coventry's 'Three Spires' would have
dominated the skyline of the City and served as an impressive and easily recognizable
landmark for visitors to the City.  As you can see, the Spires are visible from some distance.
The trick is to find a vantage point where you can see all three.

Left spire - Christ Church (Greyfriars), just over 200 ft/61 m
Middle spire - St Michael's (Old Cathedral) 300 ft/91 m
Right spire - Holy Trinity 230 ft/70 m

It looks like you went out in nasty weather to get these three spires for us. We appreciate it. (Good to see you again.)

Brilliant concept for the theme. I love the perspective and the data. What a silly lot of city-planners to allow high-rise buildings to muddy the original "design". Paris resisted the temptation to go high-rise within the city environs ... and so should have Coventry!

I love that misty skyline!

Thanks for you comments. It is amazing the distance a little Cannon point and shoot camera can capture.
