The Old Forge - Stretton Under Fosse

This home, said to have been built in 1328 when Edward III had only just been crowned King of England, is the perfect backdrop for a hint of Spring colors. 'The Old Forge' was a working farmhouse before becoming a blacksmiths forge. It is a residential property now. Oh, would I love to see the inside.  In the meantime, standing outside and enjoying this beautiful home will do for now.

Have a good week.  Cheers!

Take a few more photos of the house, give the photos to the owner and I'm sure you will be invited for a cup of tea and a look around.

..... and when you have a nice cup of tea, you could ask if it was possible to take a few pictures for your blog.
You never know, it might be a positive, nice and kind person living there.

Beautiful light, the house and garden looks so pretty!

Thanks for sharing.

is it a single family dwelling or has it been cut into apartments? Can you imagine living in something thats been standing since the 1300s?

Beautiful start to a new week! I love the shy signs of Spring, I'm sure the inside of this place would be lovely and the outside even more lush in days! (I like Stefan and Gunn's ideas too:)

A very smart looking building and a tidy garden, looks like it is loved after all those years.

Such a beauty! and 1328!

It looks like there was recent rain, which cleaned everything up and left blue skies. A good time for taking photos like these. Like taking a photo of a person soon after emerging from the shower with the cheeks still moist.

Thanks again for paying me a visit :)

Daryl - It is a 7 bedroom house and in really good condition. They made a planning application to turn some of the rooms into a gallery. Don't think it was successful.

Jack - I had the same thought about the rain. It seemed really fresh out. Took the photos in Withybrook just after these.

Oh this is a beautiful home LOL and the garden is to die for, talk about picture perfect. It does seem to be on a bit of a corner though, I wonder if that causes concerns?

PerthDP - There is a courtyard and plenty of parking for all who live there. But it is on a busy road not far from that thatch roof house on the bend in the road. I think this has to be one of my most favorite photos of houses.
