This is a timber framed thatched cottage dating from the 17th Century. It is a Grade II Listed building and the design includes that interesting thatched pheasant (my guess) on top. There have been a number of additions and alterations each century to this cottage but this is how it looks from the front today.
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends and family in USA. Have a great day!

It's a beauty! .. and that toadstool rock fence is nice too.
Love these thatched roofs! I hope to see one in person one of these days. Enjoy your day (or what's left of it!).
This is lovely. And a nice change of pace from the Thanksgiving posts . . . however important and warm those are.
That's superb. Thatching is a fine art.
amazing detail in this one! wow!
Good of you all to stop by on such a busy Thanksgiving Day. No turkey for me in the end, played golf in gale force winds and had pancakes for dinner. Nice :). Hope you all had a super day!!!!
Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving abroad! You found another gem here, beautiful work of practical art!
