Q is for 'The QUEEN Visits Coventry'

The Caption Reads:
EDINBURGH on their Silver Jubilee visit to Coventry
in 1977.

This photograph was on display at the Coventry Transport Museum in April this year as part of  The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebration exhibition.

I was living in Coventry in 1977.  I saw The Queen not many minutes after this photograph was taken and I can remember that day as if it were yesterday.  What a moment.

For more stories and photographs from around the world please visit ABC WEDNESDAY.

(Photograph of The Queen was taken in Broadgate, Coventry.)

A very appropriate choice. Some time ago I used to participate in this meme, and the weekly challenge was very stimulating.

Thanks, VDP. You are so guess is there will be a lot of 'Queen' entries for this week and mostly all different.

Well said, Rose.

What a moment, and I can only imagine how unforgettable it must have been to have been there in person when she came through Coventry! I'm enjoying your ABC posts.

(I love that you were able to vote by absentee ballot from Honolulu! There's something so great about that:)

Lulu, Just for a moment time seem to stand still while I was trying to take in the sight of her driving past. (Receiving my ballot via e-mail with detail instructions is fantastic...and fun to share the small link to Honolulu with you.)

Leslie, I did my post last night and spotted yours when I was uploading mine to ABCW. Just been back to read it in full. Wonderful!!!

Wow, LOL! That would be a dream come true for me!! Lucky you! Have you seen her other times, as well?

That was the only time, Adele. I did see Princess Diana when she came to Coventry...that was almost as exciting for me. She was so beautiful.

We just had a new Lieutenant-Governor appointed in BC, which brought out the usual republican nonsense, which I don't understand. Can't change your history, it is what it is.(Though they could skip Charles without hurting my feelings!)

I have only once ever been to Coventry, had an interview at the Poly but chose Leeds instead and have been here mostly since that time. Personally I agree with Paul in Powell River, the alternative is usually worse. I might have served the queen but I have never met the monarch, I did meet her mother once whilst on duty in London.

It did, Deb! There were huge crowds, Joy, and it was soooo exciting, Roger.

Being an American living here in England (for so long now), I do enjoy hearing your thoughts.
