Draycote Water

This is a place I have wanted to visit for years.
Draycote Water offers sailing, fishing and a fantastic place to
walk or cycle around a (flat) 5 mile road which
surrounds the reservoir.

Don't let those angry clouds fool you.  It was very warm today
and look at the view directly behind me.  Just 15 miles from Coventry.

We went to watch the Ladies British Open (Golf) last week.
It was won by USA's Mo Martin.  Found out she was born in Pasadena!

The Open starts tomorrow.  I will be watching...on TV.
Got my Thatched Roof Thursday shot for tomorrow sorted today :).

Nice landscapes, similar here today, dramatic clouds and warm.

Oh Draycote!! I spent many a summer's afternoon at Sea Cadet Regattas there (I was an instructor not a cadet). There was HUGE rivalry between a rather well off sea cadet unit...and us(somewhat the poor relation in unit boat ownership). It looks the same as it did in 1979!

The clouds don't look too threatening - more atmospheric. It is a rather flat area, though!

Nice walking with you again. And in such splendid country!

It looks like a good place to visit. I will be trying to sneak in some time to watch the Open over the next four days. I have so many things to do that time will be scarce, but the Open is a priority!

Thank you for your thoughts. I am starting to appreciate the merits of cloudy skies.

Jane - So glad you have been here and when you return you'll be surprised...there is a big, new information centre and restaurant at the entrance now.

PS. Loving the The Open golf :)
