Unexpected

This is becoming one of those places I love photographing.
(Click on the image to enlarge.)

I love this view looking over a farm in Walsgrave, Coventry.
So why the title, 'Unexpected'?

Five swans happily munching away in the field.  It is unexpected to me but
it may not be unusual.  I haven't purchased that zoom lens yet,
but Mr LOL had his binoculars with him so I can confirm those are swans.

Bet someone will know about grazing swans and leave a comment, hopefully :).

Have a good week.

Oh wow, I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of watching swans grazing on an open field looking so much like a flock of sheep! Love the captures - that first one is like a painting:)

I love the first one, too. What a jig-saw puzzle it would make!

Very pretty. I don't know much about swans, so let's see what others say . . .

Thanks for your visits while I was away.

I'm used to swans being in rivers, feeding off the water vegetation. I know they come on shore, but to eat?

We get grazing geese in Pasadena, so why not swans in Coventry?

I can see why you're drawn to this spot Lauren.. What a wonderful painting it would make. Grazing swans is something I have never seen before either, every swan I've seen is bottoms up in the water :)

Hi Lauren,
Yes, I have often seen Swans grazing: There are often a good number in the low lying fields near Bretford - just off the road heading towards Rugby. What the farmer thinks I'm not sure as they must take a good proportion of his wheat plants when growing .... I've seen them elsewhere too.
