Port San Luis, California

A few more holiday snaps from our USA trip
last month.  Port San Luis, California, is
just off Pacific Coast Highway north of Pismo Beach.

A gem of a spot to stop for a cup of coffee and a walk along
Harford Pier (where these photos were taken).
We got a show too!
The cloud trail (below) is a satellite launch from
Vandenburg Air Force Base nearby.

The noise - unbelievable!
In the papers it was described as
'a Delta 4 heavy rocket launch.'

Mr LOL and I had a bit of bad luck yesterday.
We are both okay but quite shaken after a big truck
hit our car sending us into a motorway armco barrier at speed.
After a day in hospital, I can hardly believe that we
were able to walk out with no broken bones but feeling quite sore.
No car now so there is a little sorting out to do.
For a little while I will post when I can and keep on looking
out for your blogs in the meantime.
Cheers!  Take care and be safe!

That sounds scary, glad you are okay, I like both photos here, very moody.

You tucked your news so quietly into the end of your post! That is frightening. I hope the two of you quickly recover. Phew!

Eek!!! I'm so glad you're both okay! I hope things get fixed up soon, but take it easy in the meantime.

Gotta love that seal raft.

Amazing clouds! They remind me of 'The Fog' by John Carpenter! LOL!

I think I'm in more shock that you Lauren.. I can't believe it and am just so happy that you are both ok, what a fright it must have been..no damage to Mr LOL's back?? Hope things sort out re car, insurance and all that..take it easy for a few days, that would have been a terrible shock to the system.

Aw...thanks, Grace and Petrea. John's back is better than ever...figure that? Found out his rib is cracked but he is managing. I am so missing blogging but glad we are in one piece. More soon.

Reading your posts in backward order and I can't believe how scary that must have been! I'm so glad you both are OK, though shaken of course. Please stay safe and rest up. Your photos are beautiful and very California.
