The Windows

Earlier this month was City Daily Photo's
Theme Day - Street Lamps.
I thought the photo below might work but it was not quite right.

That street lamp is not exactly on a street and the sky was white.
In taking that shot I noticed the windows.  I could see the
obvious yellow glass on the right but I had never
noticed the glass in the window on the left.

If you go inside the Cathedral and look out,
you will see the view below.  I have
looked through that window many times and missed the stained glass.
It is almost hidden.

Looking from Coventry Cathedral to
Holy Trinity Church.

The weekend is upon us.  Of course, I will be watching
US PGA Championships and tending to a rather long
'to do' list.  Have a good weekend all.

Participating in Skywatch Friday.

The details are glorious! Thanks for your sweet note, not sure I'll be in the UK much beyond this weekend, but it was fun to be so close for a bit. Now the key thing, off to attend to your to-do's...and enjoy the golf weekend of course! :-)))

Nice set of pictures. I often see added detail when I examine my photos that I did not notice earlier. Another good reason to go out with a camera!

The lamppost fits perfectly in that setting.

Good grief, what gorgeous pictures. That first one is just fine for a lamp pic...and the windows are so striking. I wouldn't have noticed the stained glass in the 2nd shot, either. But the last one with the church in the background - it's superb!

Day 2 of the PGA is over. Can you believe "Doofus" is leading? That's what I call Dufner...what a sad sack. He needs a swift kick in the behind by a PR person or everyone's gonna be rooting against him! :)

The last shot is positively gorgeous.

How beautiful!! I visited the UK in 2010 and fell in love. The history, the architecture and everything about it was so wonderful!!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed reading my adventure and return often. Noriko

Haven't gotten to the PGA yet...going to go watch now. I'd guess Dufus hasn't teed off yet.

I thought "kerbs" were something you eat. Oh, wait, those are "herbs." :)

Such beauty from such destruction...

One of my favorite things about traveling in the UK and Europe is seeing remnants of such beautiful history...we have so little of that here in the States as you know!!! Thanks for sharing!

Well, just watched Dufus win the PGA...got to admit the guy can play golf. I played this morning...couldn't break 90. It's very warm here.

I think every shot you've taken from the Coventry cathedral has been a winner Lauren, it really is one of the most photogenic sites. Hope you enjoyed the golf and at least struck a few of the to do things off the list :)

Oh thank you all so much. I am so glad you enjoy photos of Coventry Cathedral. Wonderful comments.

I did have a good weekend but didn't get as much done as planned, Grace :).

I was distracted by the PGA Championship on TV and I didn't get out to play like you did, Lowell.

And on that golfing note...well done "Doofus" :). Excellent win!

It is fascinating seeing the church architecture minus the glass for the windows. (And if you used that photo, you would not have been alone in improvising.)
