Thatched Roof Thursday #11 - Brinklow
Rain, rain, and more rain can produce a little extra greenery on some thatched roof cottages. This is a good example of what I mean. Hopefully, in the warmer months I can show you this sweet Grade II listed cottage with beautiful flowered vines and a little less moss on the roof.
Next week we are back to the cottage in Coventry that is being re-thatched. Not much work has been done this week...think that could have something to with Christmas :).
PS. Happy Birthday, Lottie & Dave too !

What a charming spot to be living LOL!!! How'd you end up in Coventry after Pasadena??? (BTW... where in England is Coventry?)
My husband is a 'charming' Englishman from Coventry (located right in the middle of England...20 miles from Stratford upon Avon).
you are sowing us the living reality of such roofs, when all we knew was static pictures! Thanks

The quintessential 'ye olde English cottage' , love it and look forward to seeing it decked out in bloom.
Absolutely gorgeous! Love everything on this house.
Ooooh! I can't wait to show you how it looks in the Spring.
Beautiful house and photo, nice mood
Ooh, love thatched roofs. Isn't Great Tew near you? As I remember it, the entire village has thatched roof houses. I think the police station in Stratford is also a thatched roof building. Odd and wonderful. Always a thrill to us Yanks no matter where they are.
This is a beauty. I even like the moss.
Hooray...at tip for more thatched roof cottages from OaklandDP. Thank you. Had a look for Great Tew. Area is located in the Cotswolds possibly about an hour from here. An outing call for in the Spring :).
Petrea - Glad you like the moss. There seems to be plenty of that about!
This one is really a beauty. I like the moss, too!
