Russell's Gate into Fields of Gold

Coombe Country Park, Coventry.

Do you have a special place that
reminds you of someone or something special?

This 'gate', which opens onto a golden field at Coombe Country Park,
is one of those special places for my husband.
He calls it, 'Russell's Gate into Fields of Gold'.

Today is Russell's birthday.

 (between Ansty and Brinklow)

Hello all.

This photograph was taken on a country lane not far from Coventry City Centre.

Today we are all excited to see if England can beat Spain and win the

Take care all and have a good day!

As The Crow Flies

Coventry City Centre

View of Coventry City Centre from about 6 miles away (I'm guessing).
Photo was taken from a spot on a hill just outside Wolston Village.

Please note the two of three Spires shown here:
Coventry Cathedral (left) & Holy Trinity Church (right).
Christchurch is out of view.

Country Road

Outside the Village of Wolston, Warwickshire

Enjoy this view of a country road heading off to a local farm,
not far from the City of Coventry.

It's been a long time since I posted something here.
All is well with us for the most part, and
I'm hoping the same applies to all of you.
Have a good day!

St Bartholomew's Church (and Benchmark)

 Binley, Coventry

Easter Sunday Afternoon

Follow this path to enter the church on your left.
Just to the right of the entrance (behind a camelia bush) level with the step
you will find a chiselled horizontal mark known as a survey benchmark and bolt.
This is an elevation reference point.  I love finding them.
Click on the link and you'll see a few more in and around Coventry HERE.

For more information about benchmarks, follow the link HERE.

These Sequoia trees are so big that I just couldn't fit them into the frame of my camera.

Five of Seven

 Coombe Country Park

Photo taken just outside Coombe Abbey Hotel.

I could only get 5 of 7 cygnets into the frame.

I don't think it will be long before these are big swans.

I am a returning blogger and I promise that it won't be long

before I share photographs from in and around Coventry,

not just at Coombe Country Park (as beautiful and entertaining as it is).

Bear with :).

Wheat Fields

 Ling Lane, Church Lawford

Greetings!

It's been months since I posted anything.  Coventry is changing

significantly.  Whilst we still have a number of Covid-19 restrictions

I really feel the urge to get out there and safely take some photos.

This one was taken at a little spot we like to stop and enjoy the views

looking over Warwickshire, England.

It is a bit of a dull day but this wheat field looks a pretty sage green.

Have a good day!

The Oak Tree

 Coombe Country Park

A sweet relative of mine emailed recently asking for
an update on how this beautiful oak tree was doing.
So this morning I went and had a look for myself.
Thankfully, it is looking as good as ever, I would have to say.

Photos taken this morning after a nice long walk around the park.

Please take care and stay safe!

Time Flies

Moon Landing - 50 Years Ago Today

Commemorative Apollo 11 Medal
made by Lombardo Mint, Canada

Fifty years ago today, I was home sick with the flu.
So glad.  I was able to watch the whole moon landing on TV.

How about you?

My dad was an avid coin collector.  This medal is from his collection and
was passed on to my husband, a Coventry kid.  He found a good place for it :).
