A Is For Atop

Looking into Coventry Cathedral Ruins

It is worth the climb...180 steps.
I did it with family (much younger than me).

I'm waving on the right and young 'A' is to the left.
We were atop the tower part with the spire extending above.

We had a dusting of snow overnight.  It is gone now.
I am hoping for a bit more next week :).

PS.  If you would like to experience this view,
go to the Information Centre and buy a ticket
during daylight hours.

Wow, I'm impressed! I don't think I could have climbed up there. But, fantastic view so I'm glad you did.

That was well worth the effort. What a view.

Lots of stretching before attempting those steps would be a must. I think it worth it for sure.

I like your wave for those not so intrepid on the ground. I've only been to Coventry once and missed out on this climb.

I'm surprised at all the modern buildings around it!

This is an entirely different view than what we're used to seeing...thank you. Knowing me, I probably wouldn't make the climb, so I'm glad you did it for me! :)

Thanks for the wave!

I can't help but think of the people who built it with no modern techniques or tools or machines...

It is probably one of the things that someone living in Coventry must do at least once. With a camera.

Wow that is some view, Many years ago when I was a chorister in our local church choir we were invited to sing at an Evensong service in the new Cathedral. It is a wonderful ultra modern building and Graham Sutherland's tapestry behind the main altar is stunning.
The ruins of the former cathedral are quite awe inspiring, I felt quite humble to be in such a place with such a poignant history.
I think, perhaps, when the Spring arrives we may drive down to Coventry and visit the Cathedrals again.
Thank you for re-awakening some touching moments in my life.
Best wishes,
Di.
