St George's Day, England

The Cross of St George flying high over Warwick Castle.

Today is also the 450th Anniversary of the birth of
Shakespeare.  As it happens, Warwick is located just about
half way between Coventry and Stratford Upon Avon.

I have taken pictures from this very spot before.
This one was taken today at 3.15 :).

I know that view! Have you been on a tour of the castle? Some areas are particularly spooky.

It seems like just yesterday that Bill Shakespeare was only 449.

The castle is so, so grand. I wanted to imagine it in my own way so I wasn't crazy about the Mme. Tussaud's figures, though they were done well. This was 15 years ago. Do the tours take you through more spooky parts than the dungeon?

I wanted to answer my own question, and I looked at the panoramas here:

I don't remember seeing most of these rooms, or they've been fixed up, or something.
A little historical period-mixing in that green drawing room...

Petrea - They have made many additions and opened up more parts of the Castle through the years. The tours are amazing. One of them in particular makes me feel like I have stepped into your book (that would be Camelot & Vine - If you haven't read it - you must! Follow this link http://petreaburchard.com/)
