Rear Window Surprise

Our Lilac Tree, and if you re-focus...

...live music from distant neighbour's garden.

On Saturday evening we could hear fantastic
music coming from one of the houses
behind ours.  Thanks to my camera I
found the source of great live entertainment -
swing, jazz and more all from this lady.
What a great voice.
Yes, I did go around the next day and knock on
the door to find out who she was.  Sadly,
no answer.  I'll keep trying and report back later :).

Thatched Roof Thursday Revisited

Stoneleigh Village

This was Thatched Roof Cottage #31 back in
May, 2013.  It looks almost the same now.
It is for sale with a guide price of £650,000 (ouch!)
for this Grade II Listed home that dates back to 1500.

Nice neighbourhood :).

Mrs Blackbird

In Our Apple Tree
Coventry, England

She is clearly not black,
but I have it on good authority
that she is a female blackbird :).

Fancy Dress

Herbert Art Gallery & Museum
Gift Shop

Something fun for Friday :).
Here is everything a young person might need
to play dress-up as a knight or princess.

Have a good weekend.  I am so pleased to have put
together 5 blog-posts this week.  Hooray!

Two Miles Away

Coventry City Centre
Photo taken from Binley, Coventry,
through a telephoto lens.

If you look carefully, you'll see the three spires of Coventry.
Christchurch is on extreme left, St. Michael's (Coventry Cathedral) and
Holy Trinity is to the right.  These spires all survived WWII and are
soon to be hidden behind a multitude of high-rise buildings -
all student accommodation.

I don't have this view from where I live.  But after a short walk
this is what I can see. Brilliant!

Spot The Difference

Earl Street, Coventry
The Earl of Mercia (centre) and Coventry Council House (right)

The photo above was taken last week and
the one below was taken May, 2015.

The bridge was removed in late April, 2017.
The link bridge was constructed in 1970 to
connect the historic council house
to civic centre buildings to the left.

PS.  The building in the middle, straight ahead, is a pub :).

The photograph above was taken
with my iPhone last week. The photo below is
a telephoto camera image.

PS. I wish I could say we had those blue skies today :).

The Circular Tower

Easenhall, Warwickshire
Easenhall Lodge (Grade II listed estate house, circa 1871)
 and Easenhall Cricket Club

Oh how I wish the sun was out when we drove
through Easenhall Village earlier today.
What do you think about that house?
It is described as 'a good example of High Victorian Gothic estate house'.
Fantastic, isn't it.
(Below) is the village cricket ground located next to the house.

No lawnmowers necessary here.  I'm guessing
those sheep will keep the grass neatly trimmed :).

These photos were taken with my iPhone this afternoon.
