Thatched Roof Thursday #70 - Marton, Warwickshire

Marton is a small village located about 15 to 20 minutes by car
from Coventry.  Not only have we got some thatched buildings
but an interesting blend of architecture too.

What I find charming is how this home joins
a converted building (maybe a former church/chapel).
The thatched house just down the road is for sale :).

There is a bridge in Marton dating back to 1414.
Got to go back and have a look.

Gorgeous photos. I feel as though I am there myself.

That little connecting room fits in beautifully.

Ah, wonder if it used to be The Rectory where the local Vicar lived?

I too wonder if it was the vicarage. Love the different styles of architecture. All very picturesque and a lovely day as well. Hope the weather has been good so far this summer.

Beautiful thatch this one Lauren, love the connecting wall between the two buildings.. Tres interesting link and the age totally fascinating for someone who lives in such a young country.

It would seem that there is a church and a home where the vicar lived or lives and both are so attractive and interesting. The setting has all the elements of a mystery novel or a movie. Maybe you could come up with the plot? It could be a comedic film about a vicar who sat in a chair made of wicker and thought of how to kill a mouse who lived in the house. No?

It definitely looks like an old church. The red brick looks great against the white and the thatch.
