Through The Water Tower...

It was the tree I had hoped to capture.
I had fun overriding the autofocus and experimenting a little.

This photograph was taken last week from outside Kenilworth Castle grounds.
I am looking through a room in the 14th century Water Tower, so called
because it overlooks a pool of water located somewhere behind me.

Kenilworth Castle is only minutes from Coventry by car.
I will become a paying visitor very soon - on a sunny day :).

Heard of the place but never been there.

Pretty old structure. Many different images in this photo.

My eyes took in the whole photograph, then focussed on the tree and stayed there. I'd say 'mission accomplished'!

Goodness look at the wonderful colours on the bricks there Lauren.. Wonder if you would call that 'patina' or is it moss ?

An ideal way to frame that tree!

Tanya, I'm wondering the same... is it possible that some people can see posts on the portal that others can't, and it varies?

Love you how focused on the background and brought it to the foreground:)

Such an intriguing view! The history is what draws me in.

Trying to get subjects in the sun and in the shade at the same time is a real challenge. I'd say you were up to the challenge ! Beautifully composed shot.

Thank you all for your nice notes and photography expertise. It is appreciated.

Tanya - I think everything is fixed at CDP. I hadn't noticed but glad you did :).

Grace - You really got me going simply because I did not know what 'patina' was. Googled it and now I am not sure what the answer to your question is. Think it is moss but next visit I will have a closer look :).

Petrea - I feel the same way. Such history and, of course, elements of your book (Camelot & Vine) often come to mind when I am in places like this.

Have a good day all!

I am not sure if I ever went to Kenilworth, but I dont think I did. I just love exploring such places and trying to bring them to life in my mind. I had such a great time in August and so want to get back to England soon.
