Sourced by timber from Coombe Country Park this bench
was designed by Jan Waterston (Warwickshire College Furniture and Craft student)
as a memorial to George and Madge Sealey.
It is an unusual piece of woodland furniture. I plan to sit on it soon :).
Below is yet another place to have a rest.
I often see children climbing all over this carved tree trunk.
You can see the Squid Bench in the middle of the photo.

I think it's a great bench, looks a bit odd but superb to sit on I would think
fascinating. I love to find this kind of man made woodland object unexpectedly!
I've played in those woods!

I love that bench ! (But exactly how do the squid sit on it?)
Wow!!! Interesting!!! Are the Sealey parents being honored the same Sealey furniture people of the States???
A very unusual bench to say the least, Lauren!
Oh I love this!
Aloha♥
Great idea, hope it stands up to daily use by school parties!
Love the story about the bench.
I love it!
It is a fascinating bench that fits the context perfectly. Nice one, LOL.
Good heavens what an unexpected and extraordinary find Lauren. I have to say a 'squid bench'.. that's a first for me!
It is very unusual!

Thanks for the nice about Jan's squid bench. It was great working with Coombe Park, use the timber from those very woods and see the public reaction to it.
