Skywatch Friday - Coventry Trio

I waited for Superman to turn up, with no avail.  I did so want to be able to say - 'Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  No, it's Superman'.  Guess I'll happily settle for this 'trio' instead.

Now you might not be excited about this photo but I am.  I took it through the windscreen of our car (I wasn't driving) and managed to get the moon, bird and plane with a point and shoot camera.

Join the fun on Skywatch Friday.

Have a good weekend all.  I am going to watch Ryder Cup golf on TV and eat Tootsie Rolls.  Back for City Daily Photo Theme Day (Silhouette) on Monday, 1st October.  (Oh my goodness me, it is nearly Christmas!!!)

Happy Birthday, John!

John has many hobbies. Astronomy is one.  Rather than show off  John's birthday cake, we thought that a tribute to Neil Armstrong would be good for today.

I'm Not Complaining...

...because tomorrow it is going to be sunny and warm here in England.

Coventry angry skyline (and a pigeon)
So to celebrate I am going to be a tourist tomorrow, play some golf and take a few days off.  Back on Tuesday.  Have a good weekend.

St George's Day and Shakespeare's Birthday too.

In celebration of St. George's Day, here is a scene from Binley Road, Coventry, today.  There is always a flag flying here but a new St. George's flag has been raised for this special day.

Also, in celebration of Shakespeare's birthday, here are some words from Shakespeare's Henry V, Act 3, Scene 1, 1.31:
'I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start.  The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit; and, upon this charge
Cry God for Harry, England and St George!'
