Helpful Signs

22 Bayley Lane
Last week I took the shot (below) standing in the doorway of
the medieval building above.

Why the title, 'Helpful Signs'?
Throughout Coventry there are many information
signs detailing the history of points of interest.
I rejoice when I see one of these signs.
They 'help' me to figure out what it is I am photographing
and to inform the nice tourists visiting Coventry.

Better go back and take a picture of
23 Bayley Lane :).

It IS a beautiful building. Coventry city centre has so many beautiful buildings (and cobbled roads) tucked away where you'd never expect them.

Love the photograph. Plaques are great for information, especially for visitors.

I, too, love these explanatory signs and often take pictures of them so I can go back over the later and better understand my photographs. Beautiful building here and rich history for sure!

I love the building and just love those plaques! I wouldn't mind seeing more of those plaques stateside - wouldn't they make any walk more enriching?:)

I liked those signs too when I was visiting England. It's always nice to know the background of a place.

Theses signs are nice to see. We have a few signs around here - but mostly they tell you what used to be there before the recent building replaced it.

What a gorgeous old cottage! Love the moss on the roof too.

They really are a font of knowledge Lauren, do they have them in London as well ? When I first looked I thought the house was 'Tudor'.. But medieval.. Looks like it is well looked after.

I too love to read about the history of the buildings from these signs. Wonderful photos. I think you should get a job with the Coventry tourist board (if there is one).

I spy with my little eye some new visitors. Thank you so much for stopping by and 'thank you' all for taking the time to write a note. I think the information signs get a 'thumbs up'.
