More Rain Clouds

Copsewood Grange Golf Club
Allard Way
I did a similar blogpost in 2014 (if this looks familar).

There is a lovely walk that follows the River Sowe
at the bottom of this hill not far from where we live.
Across the river is a 9 hole golf course, except...

...when it rains.  I have shown pictures like this before (similar to the
one above taken in February).  Yesterday, was the worst day ever.
Have a look below.

No worries.  In a day or so, that golf course
will be playable.  Hooray!

PS.  To date, the footpath we follow has never been flooded.
Phew!

Golf Anyone?

Like many parts of England, Coventry has not escaped flooding after heavy rain.

The Copsewood Grange Golf Club near us is a tad unplayable today.
Normally, this vantage point would be of green grass with the River Sowe passing on the right.

Hopefully this imposing lake feature will drain soon.

Where ever you are, hope you are safe and well.
Have a good weekend :).

Participating in Skywatch Friday

My little point and shot camera lens is jammed.
Camera phone is substituting just for now when I haven't got my DSLR with me.

Beautiful Weather In Coventry

Yesterday was a perfect day to go for a walk to see if
anyone was playing golf at Coventry's
Copeswood Grange Golf Club.  A five minute walk from home.

You may know that Mr LOL and I are recovering
from a car accident.  We are still bruised and sore
and no longer have a car.
It was lovely to be out in the sunshine.

Another shot from the other side of the  golf course.

The days ahead are going to be a challenge.  Plenty of
insurance paperwork needs attention, resting and the small
issue of replacing our car. In the meantime it is
public transport for us.

Take care and stay safe.  Will be back ASAP.

Skywatch Friday - I'm Thinking Hoarfrost

I did not know what hoarfrost was until Mammoth Lakes Daily Photo featured it more than once. (Have a look here.)  Since that time, I stumbled across this photo taken in December, 2010.  I have posted photos of this view before but wanted to add this to my collection.  Could that be hoarfrost in those trees?

We have had three very cold days here with lots of 'NO blue sky'!!!!!  If it has to be cold, I much prefer something like this view above.

For more photos featuring the sky, please follow this Skywatch Friday link

That's me done for the week.  I may have to take Monday off  if I stay up all night watching the academy awards.  It starts around 1.30 am here.  Cable TV is organised.  (Adele will be singing.)  But, if I have any common sense, I will record it and watch it in comfort on Monday morning.  We shall see :).  Have a good weekend all.

Skywatch Friday - Frost At Dusk

These were taken in a real rush on Wednesday at about 4.30pm near home.  In Coventry, it is nearly dark at this time of year. It was cold and that is frost on the trees with a bit of snow on the ground at Copsewood Grange Golf Club.  I have shown you this view with golf course under water.

At this very moment in time, it is snowing.  That slope above is covered in about 5 inches of snow and schools are out.  I am off in a minute to see if how many kids are sledging down that hill.

More photos featuring the sky can be found by following this link - Skywatch Friday.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Have fun in the snow, if it is about.  But be careful!

PS. I wasn't joking...ha ha!  Just got back. (4.30pm today)

Collection Of Raindrops

This was taken about an hour ago.  I am standing on a footpath that runs along side the Sowe River (near our home).  Normally, you would see a golf course with school playing fields beyond.  Today you see a lake.

Copsewood Grange Golf Club
Coventry
We have had quite a bit of rain in the last couple of days.  More rain tonight.  Below is a photo I took this afternoon showing the footpath and golf course.  All the areas covered in water should be grass.

Amazing, it is Skywatch Friday already.  For more photos from around the world, follow the link to SKYWATCH FRIDAY.

It has been quite a week here.  I am definitely chilling out for a couple of days.   Take care you all and have a good weekend.  Cheers!

Down By The Riverside

River  Sowe, Coventry
The River Sowe, that is. Unlike the swans I photographed a few days ago, I had no chance getting close to these three. Yesterday, the river was more like a lake on the golf course beyond.  Today the river is looking calmer but not calm enough for those three.

Copsewood Grange Golf Club - Snow, Yes. Golf, No.

Not much going on here today......but look at photos below!

These 2 photos are of a small hill immediately to the left (of the picture above) and across the river Sowe. It was great to see families out with the sleds enjoying Coventry's first snow this year.
