...and plenty of it. No, this isn't Coventry, England. This photo was taken during our recent trip to California, USA.
Roman Indoor swimming pool at Hearst Castle.
Totally magnificent and a must to visit
if you do the Pacific Coast drive between
San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.
It had to take a few dollars to build something as grand as this.
American newspaper publisher and owner, William Randolph Hearst, wasn't short of a bob or two.

This is really spectacular! It must have cost a pretty penny!
Have a great week.

Magnificent!
My parents took us there when we were kids and I remember the splendour of the entire place, especially this pool. I'd love to go back and see it again from an adult perspective!

certainly NOT Coventry!
I have heard so much about Hearst castle that I know I will just have to go and see it for myself one day soon. It is just so opulent.
Very decadent and definitely cost a lot of money. Great idea for M day.
I have always wanted to see this! Oh my, what a place! Crazy, fascinating, spectacular. Thank you for these glimpses!
I must confess that I'd enjoy gobbs of green $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Several years ago, my sister and I did a "Sister Weekend" at Hurst Castle..that pool was breathtaking.
This is amazing! It cam compete with the Hungarian baths at Budapest.
Magnificent, mostly madness...
I don't think they spared any of the green stuff!!!!

I almost didn't want to do another posting today...I love this pool so much. Thank you all for your charming comments. I has been fun to see who has been there too. If you haven't...put it on the list if you are ever in California :).
I was here so many years ago that I am embarrassed to admit how many. Quite a place, isn't it?
I'm speechless. Just, Wow!
Oh my gosh Lauren, these are spectacular shots..the colours are sublime.. at first I thought this has to be somewhere in India! I like it when abundantly wealthy people use their money for all to enjoy! So they darn well should :)))
