6 Hay Lane
The is a WWII painted water supply sign
giving instructions to blitz fire-fighters.
This is what I love about living in Coventry -
hidden treasures reminding us of Coventry's past.
Unfortunately, the paint has faded considerably.
I could only make out some of the words.
Last week I mentioned The Golden Cross pub.
The image below shows the pub in Hay Lane
and the location of the painted water supply sign.

That is a nice find. Faded by time but not enough so you can't see and photograph it.
Difficult to preserve something like that without completely repainting it and changing its originality.
Faded with time, so to speak. I like the pub!
What an interesting find!
Ghost signs are fascinating. You ARE in a remarkable place
Cool ghost sign!
A piece of history is exciting to find!
You must have good eyesight to detect that sign. A grim reminder of how Coventry suffered during those times.
Quite an interesting ghost sign, love the brick work on the building.
Amazing. And the blitz wasn't that long ago. I'm fearful we are heading toward more animosity among people and nations as our political leaders seem to be walking the same roads that led to disaster a few years back!
Oh beautiful pictures !! the first is great !
That's an old mural!
Nice colors! That period of history is just now becoming popular, as the people who who traumatized by it die off. My parents rarely discussed those years. My dad served in the Navy.
That's what is so incredibly fascinating about the UK... such incredible history around every corner!
love!
A great find
Good eye on spotting those signs.
