Thatched Roof Thursday #87 - Wolston

Brook Street
The oldest cottage in the street.

I am hoping to find 100 thatched cottages in and around Coventry.
That job is getting more difficult now.
To my amazement this cottage just sprung up in front of me
when I was on a walk around Wolston Village, only 10 minutes from where I live.

It is Grade II listed and at one time was a detached house.
If you want to read the listing details follow the link HERE.
Some of the roof terms they use (like 'half-hipped')
got me Googling to see what they were.

Can you believe it is Thursday????
Off to have a look at your blogs :).

There is something special about a thatched roof and how attractive it makes the house. You have done so well to find 87. Almost at your target.

Don't worry, LOL, you will make it to 100. This thatched house is pretty bland to my eyes, but they can't all be beautiful.

There is something absolutely charming and captivating about thatched roofs. They must have a long history.

I guess in your part of the world one never knows when a thatched-roofed cottage is going to spring up in front of you. That's one thing I don't have to worry about here! :) It's quite beautiful, but do you think it would be rather dark inside?

What a beautiful thatch. My old cottage was a thatch and such a money pit but I would very happily live under another one :-D xx

That was a pretty fab discovery Lauren, love English cottages.. We lived in one for a year when we were in Wargrave (near Henley) before coming here, I don't remember ever seeing a thatch in Perth but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled from now on.
