Postcards from California

Huntington Beach
Tile mural at Pier Plaza (close to the pier)
designed by the late Terry Schoonhoven.

You can't miss this enormous tiled mural. Here is a small section of it above.
What makes me laugh is that when I saw this mural on a recent holiday, I thought -
I can use this in Monday Mural.
So here it is :).

The theme of the mural is the history of Huntington Beach.
Below is the Pier and the Pacific Ocean with Catalina Island beyond.

I love it and the seagull is a nice touch. Funny how we both were thinking about our blogs while on vacation!

Good one. I know many of the beach towns around there, but for some unknown reason, Huntington Beach has escaped me . . . so far.

Nice. If there weren't so many people there already, I'd love to live there.

Now that is a beautiful mural! I used to hang out at Venice beach when I was a young teen and lived in L.A. Great memories!

That's quite the large mural. I like the subject/theme and colors!

A history mural yes; but with a slightly surreal flair. Don't you think? Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
