Vampire or Venom?

As you will know, last Friday (6th June) was the 70th Anniversary of the
D-day landings.  There have been many events marking the anniversary.
Yesterday this plane cruised into Coventry Airport.  Mad dash - got camera.

As to this plane's identity?
Mr LOL thinks it is a de Havilland Vampire and I am wondering if it could be a Venom.
What do I know?  Maybe I should ring the airport.
I did!  It is a Venom :).

I am impressed that you would guess that it is a Venom. If I were forced to guess, I would have said, "It is a plane." If told to make a second guess, I would have said, "Really, it is a plane."

How could you tell at that distance? Impressive.

That double boom tail thrills, like dehavilands mosquito or our beloved lightning. Nice job, fellow aviation buff!

Hey, they both start with V, it's close enough.

And I agree with Jack. Only I wouldn't be as witty.

Read the title and had no clue what you were talking about...then I thought "snake." But no, that wouldn't be a vampire.

Looks like an aeroplane to me! We saw a very strange new plane overhead Sunday while on a golf course. Kinda scary, actually.
