Library of Birmingham

Today we jumped on a train and visited Birmingham's
new public library.


This is a view from inside the 
library looking up.  The glass on the right
surrounds an elevator that goes to a rooftop terrace.

Good grief, that's some library! Can't imagine one of those being built here. The glass elevator I would probably avoid...are there steps to the roof with railings? :)

Hmmmm... Though I like the architecture I'm not too sure I like the way it looks next to the older building... The photo with the flowers is lovely though!

Interesting juxtaposition of the old and the new buildings!!! And I love that cool ceiling!!! I'd like to ride that elevator to the top!!!
