Grade II Listed Black & White Cottage |
It sits along side the River Sowe in the village of Stoneleigh. It took us about 15 minutes to get here from Coventry.
The photograph below is of the view to my left looking over the bridge into Stoneleigh Village itself.
A note about 'Comments'. I only realised today that people have to jump through some hoops to leave a comment. (Thanks, Adele.) So I am relaxing the security features to see what happens. I have also changed the format. A little 'trial and error' to follow to see how it goes. Cheers!

So pretty!! I think they are being a bit fast and loose with the term "cottage," huh? :)
Oh, Adele. You jumped in while I was doing some editing and adding the last paragraph. I had no idea that people had to go thru the hassle of typing 'that code'. So I am trying something different. So, thank you, for mentioning it. I do realise that you weren't complaining.
Sigh, thank you for this pretty dose of England. (Grade II cottages are a bit thin on the ground here :). And sunny too - now that's a lovely day!
What are friends for, Lulu. You take me to NYC and I take you on a day out to Stoneleigh. Win/Win :) PS. The bit removed below is because I don't know how to comment on my on blog. Hence, a little cut and paste. Ha Ha!
And...I haven't got my glasses on either!!!! The 'on' should please be 'own'. Done.
Most definitely not complaining! :) I was using my phone when I commented, so I got myself confused! Different people use That Code due to their own spam difficulties, so mine is certainly not to judge... Happy Monday/Almost Tuesday to you! So glad you and I and Lulu are learning together on all this stuff!
This "comment Robot" discussion has been happening a lot lately. Did we talk about it here, or was that on Lulu's blog? I'm getting myself confused.
What I need is a stroll in this beautiful village.
Funny you should ask, Petrea. You put something on my People Watching page. But having said that, you have commented to Lulu too. You are here there and everywhere. By the way... Stoneleigh is very close to Warwick. I fancy going there soon.
Oh, I loved Warwick! I would have liked it better without the Mme Tussaud's displays (maybe they're no longer there?) but it's a magical place no matter what.
Tussaud's is still there but there is much more and that is NOT the main attraction now by a long shot.
Very, very nice! Now that I've found you I'll look forward to more pictures of Coventry!
(And as long as you're making changes, might I suggest you make your Blogger profile public - I looked for you after you were nice enough to leave a comment or two, but only found you through my site tracking page. :D )
Thank you, Paul. Off to find my 'profile' :).
Just wanted to say that we live in Stoneleigh, so welcome to our village :) You've really captured some of the most beautiful houses here, thank you. Ours is one of the timber-framed non-thatched cottages on the main road. They are indeed peacocks on the thatched roofs; it's the sign of the master thatcher who did the roofs originally and then patched them up. The house you saw being re-thatched belongs to friends of ours, Ann and Jules. If there's anything else you'd like to know about the village, drop us a line! There's also a very active Stoneleigh History Society (Google it) which meets regularly and I'm sure they'd love to have you join them on one of their village history evenings.
All the best
Richard and Louise
