View from Old Blue Coat School, Priory Row |
This weekend is Heritage Open Days in Coventry, a once a year opportunity to go inside historic Coventry buildings. I have photographed
Old Blue Coat School (c1714-1855) from the outside but have only been inside once. Today was my chance to return. The white timber-framed building is16th century Lychgate Cottages and the stone building is the part of Old Blue Coat School.
I put my sunglasses down, and for some reason decided to leave them in the shot.

How cool is this??? The sunglasses give it a fun touch. Glad you got to go inside. My ancestors are from England, and I feel a kinship to your adopted homeland. Thanks for taking me on a daily visit! Also, I love that you linked to the May photo. Looking forward to more from this excursion of yours!
Yes the sunglasses aid that neccesary extra to bring the shot alive - trouble with everything being open the same day on Heritage Weekend you can't get to many different ones.
Terrific picture! I really like this. And agree, the glasses add the finishing touch.
How nice of you, Adele. And, welcome to FB. I spotted you this morning. Well done!
Thank you, Paul. I really like it too. Maybe, it is as Gerald said - the glasses bring the shot alive.
What a terrific event. It's great to see these inside these - beautiful scene, composition and light! I like those sunglasses resting there too, they look just right :)
(Hopefully, the April Kenilworth visit wasn't a one-off -- it was a wedding -- and there'll be a chance to be near there again!)
