Thatched Roof Thursday #90 - Peatling Parva

Long Folly Cottage
Main Street

This is the second of three thatched cottages
I photographed in the village of Peatling Parva.
Almost missed it...it is set back from the road.

This village is just a few miles from the old
RAF airbase at Bruntingthorpe which was used by
the American Air Force during and after WWII.
The airbase then became a vehicle testing
ground for Chrysler in the mid 1970/80's.

Hi there !
I discovered your lovely blog when researching 18th century menageries! So I saw your post about three summers ago.
I'm the reverse of you - A British ex-pat living in America.
I was at boarding school in Malvern - somewhat your part of the world.
How I miss the midlands of England!
My blog is pretty much defunct now - but warmest greetings anyway.

A house with a whole lot of character!

I agree with William, the cottages you show us have so much character, some even look like faces looking at the world from under thatched brows 😊 it's true, I have an over active imagination ☺ Happy weekend Lauren.

The little thatched brow over the door is unexpected!
