Souvenir of the Coronation of......
Queen Elizabeth II.
And, the whole coronation ceremony was on TV on 2nd June, 1953. I was in Pasadena watching as a little girl and this tin was the source of a load of sweets for those here in Coventry. Amazing! I am told that the rationing of sweets had ended earlier that year.

Post Script to this blog posting: I have amended it slightly to show that whilst Queen Elizabeth became Queen 60 years ago (hence the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations this weekend), it wasn't until 2nd June 1953 that she actually was crowned at her coronation. (I am learning every day...hooray.)
